About us: The Centre for Policy is a Shillong-based think-and-do tank established by the Living Roots Foundation. The Centre collaborates with international organisations, government bodies, academic institutions, and civil society to advance meaningful and sustainable progress in Meghalaya and beyond.

The Centre is the implementation partner of the Young People’s Action Group (YPAG), a pioneering initiative supported by UNICEF that brings youth voices to the forefront of climate resilience, healthcare, and community well-being.

The Centre is inviting applications for key positions to help drive this mission.

About the Role: This is an internship position designed for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in programme delivery with civil society organisations and UN agencies. The Community Liaison & Logistics Consultant will support the organization of four workshops across Meghalaya, ensuring smooth coordination and effective community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and logistics for workshops, including venue coordination, participant outreach, and on-site support.

  • Serve as a liaison between YPAG and grassroots communities, ensuring inclusive participation.

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Centre and its partners during workshops.

  • Document workshop proceedings and support reporting requirements.


Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Strong research and writing skills.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools.

  • Collaborative mindset and cultural sensitivity.

  • Commitment to child rights, equity, and culturally grounded approaches to resilience.

  • Interest in learning about climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, or healthcare resilience.

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and at least one of Meghalaya’s local languages (Khasi, Garo, or Pnar).

  • Ability to travel with the Centre's teams within Meghalaya for workshop delivery.


Compensation:

  • Fixed honorarium of ₹12,500 total for a total of four workshops.

 

Note: 

  • This position will be based in Shillong, India, with frequent travel throughout Meghalaya.
